About the Role
Import and Export Coordination: Facilitate the smooth and efficient movement of goods across international borders, ensuring compliance with customs regulations and trade agreements.
Supply Chain Management: Manage and optimize the end-to-end supply chain, including sourcing, procurement, transportation, warehousing, and distribution.
Vendor and Supplier Relations: Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors globally to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement.
Logistics Planning: Plan and execute logistics operations, including the selection of shipping methods, routes, and carriers, while optimizing cost and efficiency.
Customs Compliance: Ensure compliance with import/export laws, customs regulations, and trade agreements specific to North America, the Middle East, and the Far East.
Inventory Management: Oversee inventory control, including stock levels, storage, and tracking to minimize carrying costs and ensure product availability.
Cost Control: Implement cost-effective logistics solutions, negotiate contracts, and monitor expenses to achieve budgetary objectives.
Risk Management: Identify and mitigate logistics-related risks, such as supply chain disruptions and security concerns.
Documentation: Prepare and manage shipping and trade-related documents, including invoices, bills of lading, and certificates of origin.
Performance Metrics: Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate and improve logistics efficiency and accuracy.
Team Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, procurement, and finance, to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
Regulatory Updates: Stay updated on changes in international trade regulations, tariffs, and sanctions to maintain compliance.
Market Research: Conduct research and analysis to identify emerging market opportunities and challenges in North America, the Middle East, and the Far East.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
Proven experience in logistics and international trade, with a minimum of 10 years in a similar role.
Comprehensive knowledge of international shipping regulations, customs procedures, and trade compliance.
Familiarity with logistics software and tools, including ERP systems, TMS, and WMS.
Strong problem-solving skills and analytical abilities.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills for managing global supplier and client relationships.
Ability to adapt to changing market conditions, trade agreements, and regulatory requirements.
Multilingual abilities may be preferred.
Project management skills for overseeing logistics projects.
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
Attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
Willingness to travel as needed.
